A new course on diploma in Computer Application & Business Management has started during 1999-2000. Multi Point Entry and Credit (MPEC) System is followed here which is different from the conventional 3 year Diploma Courses followed in other Polytechnic Colleges.

Students with very good academic records are eligible for getting admission in this institution and the result of outgoing students also found attractive.

In the begining, the institution was functioning in 7 different rented buildings scattered in and around Neyyattinkara. The college has been started functioning on new building on November 1998. The number of sanctioned posts of teaching faculty is 70 and that of ministerial staff in 27. About 85% of the teaching staff is available as regular establishment and the remaining is made available as Guest faculty.

The institution has almost adequate facilities of furniture and other equipments and we equipped Science and Engineering Laboratories and Workshop. The institution has a very good library containing around 10000 books.

The success of any institution is the sincerity, co-operation and hard-working academic and administrative staff. Also the students of this institution are well behaved, good natured and hard-working. It is worthwhile to mention that a unit of NCC has been functioning satisfactorily in this institution. The students from this institution have participated the Inter-Polytechnic College Youth Fastival. Regarding the employment oppurtunity of the students, we are very keen to arrange campus interview.

During February 2000, the Continuing Education cell of this institution was given registration be the Center for Continuing Education, Kerala. In November 2001, the Community Polytechnic Scheme under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has started functioning in this institution. In order to help the people in rural area for self-employment, courses on various subjects, Seminars, Technical Service Camps and Medical Camps have been conducting under this scheme.

The institution is also lucky to have a very good Parent-Teacher Association. A good staff club is also functioning in this institution.
