           Instrumentation Engineering department in Government Polytechnic College, Neyyattinkara formerly known as Electronics and Instrumentation was started in 1991 with an annual intake of 30, which has now been increased to 50.  The department offers a 3 year Diploma program in Instrumentation Engineering and deals with the measurement, control and automation of processes in industries. The department has:

• Well equipped instrumentation laboratories to develop, test and maintain various instruments used in the industry.
• Highly qualified faculties who have experience in teaching, industry and research.

The focus of the department is to provide the students with necessary skill and knowledge to become competent Instrumentation Engineers. 

         Instrumentation Engineers have the scope to choose their career in a wide range of Engineering areas as it is a highly interdisciplinary branch covering the major aspects of Electronics, Electrical, Computer and Mechanical Engineering.
